Mitch participated in the inaugural 2024 Rising Voices Canada program, a career accelerator from BIPOC TV & Film, Indeed, Hillman Grad, and TIFF. He's also an alumnus of the 2023 CFC Norman Jewison Film Program and the 2022 Warner Brothers Discovery x Canadian Academy Writers Program.

Mitch holds a Hons. BA in Philosophy from the University of Toronto, a diploma in Comedy Writing & Performance from Humber College, a post-grad certificate in Screenwriting & Narrative Design from George Brown College, and a piece of paper for graduating from the Second City Conservatory.
He’s also a professor in the Faculty of Media & Performing Arts at George Brown College and a voting member of the Canadian Academy.
In his downtime, he can be found introducing non-cinephiles to his favourite Criterion films.
